Indigenous Peoples Advisory Circle

The Indigenous Peoples Advisory Circle (IPAC) is a respectful and inclusive forum for engaging with Indigenous communities and promoting cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Establishing a Foundation for Engagement

SARVAC is dedicated to respecting self-determination and self-governance of Indigenous communities and seeks to build strong, respectful and reciprocal relationships. The Indigenous Peoples Advisory Circle is comprised of leaders from the three populations collectively identified as being Indigenous in North America by the Government of Canada: First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. Within these three groups there are a diversity of nations with distinct languages, cultures, teachings, and traditions. The mandate of the circle is to advise SARVAC’s board of Directors regarding call-outs on Indigenous Lands; developing response plans that honour the traditions, values and leadership of the community needing assistance.
